2020 Inclusion Election

Centennial Water and Sanitation District (Centennial Water) Board of Directors would like to conduct an inclusion election to include all of the properties located in the Highlands Ranch Metro District and Mirabelle Metropolitan District.

Highlands Ranch and Mirabelle are currently in the Centennial Water service area but only limited parcels in Highlands Ranch are currently in the district boundaries. The Board is considering expansion of the district boundaries to include all properties in Highlands Ranch and Mirabelle. Expanding the boundaries would give all residents the opportunity to serve as board members in the future.

There would be no financial impact of inclusion of Highlands Ranch properties. Centennial Water is funded by rates and fees. Rates and fees are reviewed annually and will continue to increase over time due to inflation, capital replacement and regulatory requirements.

On Monday, January 27, the Centennial Water Board of Directors will hold a public hearing and consider adoption of a resolution initiating an inclusion election. If the resolution is adopted, an election will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2020. If this inclusion passes, all residents and property owners will be eligible to serve on Centennial Water’s Board of Directors. The first election for new board members would be in May 2022.

The public is invited to attend the meeting on January 27. It will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Hendrick Office Building boardroom located at 62 Plaza Dr., Highlands Ranch. If you are unable to attend but would like to share your thoughts, please email info@highlandsranch.org.
